Medical Astrologer

How can a "scientist" become an astrologer? This is not as strange as it may seem. You see, in the "old days," most physicians were astrologers. Actually, it was Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, whose oath every modern physician must take, who said

"A Physician without knowledge of Astrology has no right to call himself a Physician"

Prior to 1987, I did not know what astrology was. Of course, I read my "horoscope" in the newspaper, like millions of other people, and I knew I was a "Scorpio" but that was all I knew of astrology. Then, in August of 1987, I met Jacob Schwartz (no relation) and he dazzled me with knowledge that he had no way of knowing. We were in a restaurant having dinner and I had given him an old horoscope that someone had done for me a few years before in a shopping mall and asked him if he knew what it meant. In less than 10 seconds, he revealed the most significant events that ever happened to me in my life! When I asked him how he knew those things, he replied, "I'm just reading symbols - that's all." Well, my scientific mind just couldn't deal with that explanation. There had to be something more, I thought. Jacob calculated natal horoscopes on his computer for myself, my sister, my daughter and one of my friends. To make a long story short, the next day I bought a book on horoscope interpretation and began reading everything I could on the subject, using the horoscope charts for comparison. Jacob saw that I was catching on quickly and taught me some of his techniques. A few months later, I decided to buy I computer because it would help me to calculate horoscopes much faster. That was another big step for me because, until then, I was computer-phobic! I used to get my colleagues to do my calculations for me because I wouldn't touch a computer. However, that was then and this is now.

I attended an astrology conference in August of 1988. It was in Eugene, OR, hayfever capital of the world, during the height of hayfever season. I was miserable. My medication didn't do much and I was suffering. Then, I met a physician who told me to take cayenne pepper and ginger root capsules. I thought she was nuts but, at that point, I would have tried almost anything. My hayfever symptoms rapidly stopped. I couldn't believe it. It was like a miracle. That's what attracted my attention to Herbal Medicine.
