Scientific

My last research before leaving involved mechanisms of inflammation, as are encountered in systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), transfusion reactions, and periodontal disease. In the course of my research, I developed reagents that may, some day, aid in clinical diagnosis and prognosis of these diseases.

I am probably most well known for my discovery of HKa, the activated form of the contact system cofactor, high molecular weight kininogen.

Administrative

My administrative duties included developing and updating an inventory for more than 20 people and trying to keep the communication lines open. I also maintained several computers and I'm the former Webmaster for the Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center.
