DHEA

DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) has been shown to increase estrogen and testosterone levels. It has also been shown to increase IGF-1, increase lean body mass and decrease appetite. A dose of 50 mg taken at night was shown to restore circulating DHEA levels to those of young adults. DHEA has been shown to improve the way older adults cope with stress, improve the quality of sleep, decrease joint pain, and greatly increase the feeling of well-being.  Women should not take more than 25 mg per day.
