| My name is Danny Todd. I am 45 years old. I live in Canberra,
Australia. My on line nickname is Quixster. I have been HCV pos since 1981. Of course then it was referred to as non A non B hepatitis. I think I became infected after receiving blood transfusions when the tubing broke on a dialysis machine while I was being treated for acute renal failure bought on by "muscle melt down". Thankfully after 12 months treatment for that I have never relapsed. Unfortunately the HCV continues to be remaining legacy of those days. I am not bitter at all, If I hadn't received the blood transfusions, I would be dead. Simple as that. If they had said to me "We have some blood we can give you to save your life but it is infected with HCV and may shorten your life span" I would have said, "Thanks, give it to me.......real quick." |
