Hepper's 12 Steps

  1. We admitted we were powerless over hepatitis- that our lives needed direction and support.
  2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to perfect health.
  3. Made a decision to turn our hepatitis and our lives over to the care of God as we personally believed.
  4. Made a probing and fearless inventory of our lives.
  5. Admitted to God, ourselves, and another Hepper the exact memory of our emotional seat within our liver.
  6. Were ready to have God empty and heal our emotional woundedness.
  7. Humbly asked God to remove our emotional pain.
  8. Made a list of all painful emotions stored in our liver, and became willing to release them and completely let go.
  9. Made direct amends to our liver and promised to honor it's special presence within our body.
  10. Continued to take inventory of emotions in the liver, and made a pledge to empty daily emotional experience within our lives.
  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to connect with God every day, praying only for the counsel of infinite spirit and power to believe in the best of divine providence.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other Heppers and practice these principles in all our affairs.
